Can you shot .22 shot shell ammunition out of a .22 riffle.?

.22 Long Rifle Shot Shells contain tiny #12 birdshot, and they lack any true power to speak of. Great for Snakes at 15 ft or less, but not for anything like a Squirrel. They can be fired out of a Pistol or Rifle safely, and won't harm the rifling or the barrel interior. Next time you are in a Sporting Goods store that sells ammunition as the clerk to show you a pack of CCI 22 Shotshells. They have a clear blue tinted plastic tip that you can see just how small the shot size is first hand...These are also made in a.22LR "crimped" end shotshell by Remington and several other big manufacturers.CCI also makes these in 22 Magnum caliber, (38 Special caliber, made to shoot out of a 38 Special or 357 Magnum Pistol).......
